内容摘要:

The nature of dark matter remains one of the most profound mysteries in modern physics. Direct detection experiments rely critically on our understanding of the local dark matter distribution—both in density and velocity—within our galaxy, and especially near the solar system. In this talk, I will discuss a generic mechanism by which ultralight dark matter can become captured by external gravitational potentials, forming bound structures known as gravitational atoms. I will show how this process can significantly alter the local dark matter density and velocity distribution, as well as implications for dark matter detection experiments.

主讲人介绍:

Minyuan Jiang obtained his PhD at Nanjing University. After that he did postdoc in Institute of Theoretical Physics (Beijing), Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel) and DESY (Germany). He joined Nanjing Normal University as faculty member in 2026. His research covers topics in particle physics and cosmology, in particular effective field theory and ultralight dark matter phenomenology.
